Conference events not at the Marriott
There are four important off-site locations that will be used during the Main conference at ACL-HLT 2011. First, one of the five parallel sessions during the conference will be held in a hotel across the street from the Marriott. Second, the poster session will be held Monday night at a venue down the street from the Marriott. Third, the conference banquet will be held in a building at the Portland Art Museum, some blocks from the Marriott. Finally, conference participants staying at the PSU dorms will be travelling back and forth daily. Below we provide instructions for getting to and from these venues from the Marriott, with maps. Note that the Marriott hotel staff will always be available to help you find these locations, if you have difficulties or require special accomodations.Main conference parallel session at RiverPlace Hotel

Monday Poster session at the Portland World Trade Center

Tuesday banquet at the Mark Building of the Portland Art Museum
Tuesday evening, from 7-11:00pm, the Conference Banquet will be held approximately ten blocks from the Marriott. Here are walking directions from the Marriott to the RiverPlace. Directions will also be provided on signs at the conference venue on the afternoon and evening of the banquet. See below for alternatives to walking.Walking directions:

Not necessarily a faster route to the banquet venue, but with less walking, an alternative route is to walk five blocks to the Portland Streetcar station at 1st Ave. and Harrison St. and take the Streetcar towards NW 23rd Ave. to the Portland Art Museum Stop. The streetcar is free in this downtown area. Be sure to check streetcar schedules to ensure on-time arrival.
