Abstract

In this paper we propose a method for automated generation of adult humor by lexical replacement. We propose three types of lexical constraints as building blocks of humorous word substitution. Empirical evidence indicates that the use of lexical resources and constraints, recognisable as related to forms of incongruity, can increase the effectiveness of humor generation.
