Instructions for presenters
Guidelines for oral presentations
Presentation time is 25 minutes for long papers and 15 minutes for short papers, including introductions, questions and switching between presentations.
Please plan for your actual presentation to last no more than 20 minutes if you have a long paper and 12 minutes if you have a short paper. This allows 5 minutes (for long papers) and 3 minutes (for short papers) for questions and switching presenters. It is very important that the sessions remain on time.
Please use your own laptop for the talk.
You should arrive to your session room 15 minutes before the session starts. Please introduce yourself to the session chair and test your laptop-to-projector connection. Please refer to the program for room and session chair information.
Guidelines for poster presentations
The poster board dimensions are: 8 feet wide, 4 feet high (2.4 meters wide, 1.2 meters high). Note this is a relatively large board for one poster. Please freely use this space. Remember that you are responsible for printing your poster! Materials to attach the poster to the board will be provided.
Each paper is assigned a unique poster ID for each of the poster session (e.g. "L01-L50", "S1-S33"). You can find this ID on the program and in the conference handbook that you will receive during registration. This should help you find your poster board location during the conference.
For long papers with poster presentations, please make sure to follow Joel Tetreault's instructions to organize the Half Minute Madness (HMM) spotlight sessions.
