CALL FOR LATE-BREAKING PAPERS
Note that this CFP has been significantly revised
as of 02/21/2003.
Please read it carefully.
Short (Late-Breaking) Papers at HLT-NAACL provide a venue for authors to present
late-breaking results. Submitted Short Papers will be carefully
evaluated on the basis of originality, significance, technical
soundness, and clarity of exposition. Short Papers may be accepted
for presentation in either an oral session or a poster session
(the decision will be made by the Program Committee).
Short papers and posters are due on March 7, 2003 at 5pm your local time.
Short Papers may be accepted for oral presentation OR for presentation
in a poster session (determined by the Program Committee); The
deadlines are later for short papers and posters than for full papers;
Short papers are restricted to 3 pages in length. Only two reviews per
submission are guaranteed. Two volumes of proceedings will be
produced; one for full papers and a another for short papers and
demonstration descriptions.
Short papers must be submitted in
camera-ready format; see
www.hlt-naacl03.org/format.html. Short papers that are not in
PDF or are incorrectly formatted may be rejected on that
basis.
Requirements: Submissions must describe original, completed,
unpublished work, and include concrete evaluation results when
appropriate.
See full paper submission
informaton for topics of interest.
Papers that have been or will be submitted to other
meetings or publications must provide this information (see submission
format); in the event of multiple acceptances, authors are requested
to immediately notify the program chair and choose which meeting to
present and publish the work at as soon as possible -- HLT-NAACL 2003
cannot accept for publication or presentation work that will be (or
has been) published elsewhere.
Format: Submissions must be camera-ready, electronic and
in PDF.
Submissions should follow the HLT-NAACL'03 formatting guidelines and
be submitted in camera-ready format.
Short papers that are not in PDF
or are incorrectly formatted may be rejected on that basis.
Authors
are strongly encouraged to use the LaTeX style
files or MSWord equivalents available on
the website.
Reviewing: Reviewing will not be blind.
Because we need camera-ready copy, authors must include their
identifying information on the paper.
This is to accommodate the late-breaking format; we need time to
review the papers and get the accepted papers to the printer in time.
Procedure: All interactions will be done via the website and email.
Note that notification date for acceptance and
rejection has been changed to April 16, 2003.
A PDF file of the paper must be uploaded onto the system by the date
of the announced deadline. In addition, information about each paper
must be entered on the website. This information will include:
- Paper title
- Authors' names, affiliations, and email addresses
- Contact author
- A short list of keywords (selected from a predefined list)
- Abstract (no more than 500 words)
- Whether or not the paper is under consideration for other conferences
Authors who for some reason cannot submit a PDF file electronically
should contact the program chairs in advance of the due date to work
out alternate arrangements.
